Resolve. (Day 1)

It seems like yesterday that Connor, Alexis, and I (and occasionally a few others) would get together on a daily basis and talk with such passion. Arguing with crazy conviction. Correcting, encouraging, believing, changing, inspiring, and growing. We questioned everything. We challenged each other, being honest and straightforward, never ‘beating around the bush’ for fear of “offending” each other. And it was all done in love. We were deeply concerned for each other, ourselves, and everyone else in world. We didn’t hold anything back, we were dedicated. I miss those days. What happened?

Luke 8:13 “And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away.”

Today is World Water Day!

Pledge YOUR next birthday and bring clean water to people in need.

Find out more from charity: water.

charity: water has been one of my favorite organizations to learn about and see in action for almost the past year. I even tried last semester to start a student organization here at ETSU to raise funds for charity: water; but dealing with the incompetent SORC (student organization resource center) is a whole different story. Though I admit, I just use that as an excuse.

Sometimes I don’t know what to think about charity: water. They do so many things in ways I don’t know what to think of (good and bad) but in the end there is just something I love about them. They stay passionate and LOVE what they do. Or at least, they appear that way. They are always pumped, excited, young, energetic, and persistent in their efforts. They stay positive and never get you to do anything out of guilt (which is a good thing. When you do things out of guilt, over time you’ll just end up avoiding whatever makes you feel guilty). I just love the excitement, passion, and drive they have.

I’m just posting this here because I love charity: water – despite their faults. (Because strangely enough, charity: water is an organization run by people so naturally they will mess up in some aspect, every single time.)
